Assignment #2

Although I wasn't able to see any television shows over the weekend, I did see the movie 'Inception' in theatres - obviously, this had no commercial breaks, but it did have coming attractions, which I consider to be the movie equivalent of commercial breaks. The movie itself was technically in the action/thriller genre, but it was also focused on the very imaginative idea of living in dreams and alternate realities. The time period is never stated, but because of the new technology, it's implied that the setting is futuristic. The main character (played by Leonardo Dicaprio) is able to alter the dreams of others, and even implant ideas in their dreams that will stick with them in reality.
The main attractions were also mainly action movies. One (although I forget the title) starred Michael Cera and was clearly intended for more of a high school audience. In the trailer, the main character falls in love with this girl who is mysterious, and has many ex-boyfriends who all want her back (not much else is clear, other than that this predicament leads to a lot of action sequences). Another trailer was for the movie 'Due Date'; it stars Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifianakis, and is a road-trip action/adventure comedy very similar to 'The Hangover'. This was probably included because much of the audience of 'Inception' is teenagers/young adults, and movies like 'Due Date' are targeted toward that age group.
The last trailer, 'The Town' was a crime movie about Boston gang activity (with a bit of a spooky mood similar to 'The Dark Knight' - many of the villains are masked similarly to the joker). This also falls into the action category, and is a bit mysterious like 'Inception', which is probably why they included it as a trailer.

Personal Branding

Like everyone, my personality is multi-layered. I might seem shy when I first meet someone, but after a little while (even a few days), I'm very extroverted and friendly. I can be absent-minded about some things (for example, I've lost two phones over the past three years), but in other areas such as school and extracurricular activities, I'm motivated and (somewhat) organized. I'm more of a visual person, and while I'm terrible with remembering names, I have an excellent memory for things about appearances, such as faces, what they wear, and how they act.
Three words that describe my personality are (somewhat) creative, curious, and focused. I love to write and think up ideas for stories, and when watching movies I'll almost always create my own endings to them. In addition, I'm usually wondering about what will happen in the future, and I'm incredibly curious about it until it happens. When I have something I need to do, it becomes my top priority until it's finished; however, sometimes I get a bit too focused on that one thing.
I think that others see me basically the way I see myself, although sometimes people don't see the specific details, which are definitely important in someone's personality. I'm fine with the way people see me, because unless they're close friends, it's difficult to know specific details about people in general.
